Using print alongside your newsletter
I saw an interesting discussion on Reddit the other day about printing a magazine to go alongside a newsletter.
It’s not a bad idea, but there are a few things to remember if you’re thinking of going down this path.
The cost is higher (you have printing and postage costs). So if it’s going to be a regular feature you may need to look into how you will fund it.
There is a lot more work to organise a magazine over an email newsletter, including earlier deadlines to allow time for it to be printed and distributed.
Will it be for sale or will you give it as a gift to subscribers/paid subscribers?
Remember print is a different medium to email, use that to your advantage.
I've always wanted to have a physical newsletter, and I'm sure I'll eventually do it, but probably a yearly or maybe quarterly thing.
